LatCham and SAAC

A LatCham delegation visited with the Swedish Embassy in Washington DC, at Sweden's spectacular architectural icon, the House of Sweden on Friday January 30, 2009.
The purpose for the meeting was to discuss opportunities for LatCham and the Swedish American Chamber of Commerce (SACC) and Swedish Embassy in the United States to work together to promote US-Baltic-Nordic cooperation.
LatCham representatives included Director of the Board, Gustav Plato, LatCham members Uldis Salenieks and Trevor Dane, and LatCham's Honorary Member, Latvia's Ambassador to the United States and Mexico, Andrejs Pildegovics. The Swedish delegation was represented by Sweden's Ambassador to the United States Jonas Hafström and Minister for Trade and Economic Affairs, Claes Hammar.
LatCham held a follow-on visit with the DC Chapter of the Swedish American Chamber of Commerce on Monday February 02, 2009. The meeting included Claes Hammar and Maja Persson of SAAC. The LatCham delegation included Gustav Plato, LatCham Board Member Juris Lazdins, and Trevor Dane. The purpose of the follow-on meeting was to discuss opportunities for cooperation in the coming year between the chambers in the DC metropolitan area.
In addition, the Swedish Chamber has 20 chapters across the US and have a variety of business and social events that take place in each chapter. LatCham and SAAC discussed creating opportunities for the organizations members to network with one another across the United States. Future news releases will discuss this in more detail.
