Vija Udenans has joined LatCham as an individual member. Vija Udenans lives in the Washington DC metropolitan area working as a producer for ABC News covering national and international news for the TV network. She has been credentialed to the White House press corps since 1994, traveling with President Clinton and President Bush around the world. In addition to producing for World News, she also files reports for ABCNews.com.

During the Clinton and Bush administrations she coordinated the US TV network pool coverage to domestic stops and foreign destinations as the US Presidents attended NATO, APEC, EU, G-8 summits and visited other nations.

Ms Udenans came to Washington in 1980 from New York, where she had worked in ABC Radio, ABC's World News Tonight, and NBC News. She is a seasoned broadcast professional in the high-pressure and fast-paced media environment with strong organizational skills and a wide ranging breadth of experience from management of operations, finance, and planning to field reporting and production.

A graduate of Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts in TV/Radio, she also studied International Broadcasting at the London Polytechnic and worked toward an MBA at New York University.

Vija attended the Latvian Gymnasium in Munster, Germany. She is a member of American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, and the Latvian sorority, Staburadze.
