Gundega Seng
Mar 03, 2009
Gundega Seng joins LatCham as an individual member. Gundega's professional experience is rooted in two distinct areas, political-military policy and art. Raised to be a professional artist, she attended the J. Rozentala School of Fine Arts and continued her studies at the Latvian Art Academy. Yet growing up during Latvia's reemergence as an independent nation instilled in her a deep interest in international relations and policy. This curiosity motivated her to continue her studies, which earned her a bachelors degree in Political Science from the University of Latvia and a masters degree in International Policy from George Washington University.

Gundega was the first U.S. Government Security Assistance program representative at the U.S. Embassy in Riga, Latvia. From 1994 through 2002, she managed FMF/FMS and IMET programs which provided critical support to the development of Latvia's reestablished National Armed Forces. Gundega currently develops strategies, policies, and concepts at the Defense Security Cooperation Agency of the Office of Secretary of Defense. All the while, art has remained a large part of Gundega's life as she continues to paint and enjoys teaching art to children.
